Getting Started Guide

From a single prompt to a structured narrative. Here's how to use LLMChatterbox.

Step 1: Start a Scene

The quickest way to start is on the Home Page. Type a descriptive prompt (e.g., "A debate between a cat and a dog about napping spots") and hit send. The app will automatically generate two AI speakers and start a "Live Mode" chat.

Alternatively, go to the Chat Page to set up a scene manually.

Step 2: Organize with the Dashboard

Logged-in users can access the Dashboard to organize scenes into "Books". Think of a Book as a project folder for your novel, screenplay, or game.

  • Create Books: Click "Create New Book" to start a new project.
  • Manage Scenes: Unassigned scenes appear on the dashboard. Use the menu on each scene to Rename, Delete, or assign it to a Book.
  • Manage Books: Use the menu on each Book card to Rename or Delete it.
Step 3: Visualize in the Studio

Clicking a Book on your Dashboard takes you to the Studio Canvas—a visual workspace to map your narrative.

  • Arrange Scenes: Drag and drop scene "nodes" to arrange your plot visually.
  • Create Connections: Drag from the handle on the right of one node to the left of another to draw a line, representing the flow of your story.
  • Manage Nodes: Hover over a connection line to see an 'x' to delete it. Hover over a node to see a icon to remove it from the book (it will become "unassigned").
  • Save Your Layout: Click the "Save" button to preserve your node positions and connections.
Step 4: Configure API Keys & Speakers

In the chat page, click the icon to open settings. Here you can add API keys, and customize speaker names and personas.

Step 5: Direct the Conversation

Once a scene is set up, you have several ways to direct the AI conversation:

  • Continue: Leave the input empty and click "Continue" to let the AI generate the next line.
  • Instruct: Type a new topic or instruction to guide the next response.
  • Impersonate: Switch the input mode to "Impersonate" to write the next line yourself.
  • Live Mode: Click "Go Live" to have the AIs converse automatically.
Step 6: Refine & Export

You have full control. Hover over any message or topic card and click the icon to edit it. The conversation will regenerate from that point. When you're done, click the "Download" button to export your scene as a PDF.

Step 7: Share Your Work

You can make your conversations and books public to share with others. Use the toggle options in the Dashboard or Studio to make your work visible on the Community TV page.

Step 8: User Accounts

Create a free account to save your conversations, create books, and access the Dashboard and Studio features. Anonymous usage is not saved.
